Lize Spit (b. 1988) lives in Brussels. She has a MA in Screenwriting and and teaches Creative Writing at RITCS (Royal Institute for Cinema and Sound) in Brussels.. Her debut novel THE MELTING was published in 2016 and sold 250.000 copies in The Netherlands and Belgium. It was chosen as NRC Book of the Year, shortlisted for the Premio Strega Europeo, and translation rights sold in sixteen countries. A film adaptation followed. Her second novel, I’M NOT HERE, was published in late 2020 and has been nominated for the Libris Prize and the Jean Monnet European Literature Prize. She was chosen to write the prestigious Dutch Book Week in 2023, the novella THE RIGHTFUL FINDER, which had a printrun of 550.000 and was lauded by the press as one of the best Bookweek Gifts in many years.
